I'm done!

Now that I finished giving out all of the stuff I had, I think I'm done with my 20% project. I don't have and any more donations in my house that I collected. This weekend I'll start working on my presentation and think about what I'm going to say about my results of my 20% project...
 During Presentations
Over the past few days I've been watching everybody present, I wasn't stalling but I really didn't want to go first though I was still prepared. I think other people's projects were really cool and they did nice things. Others i can honestly say I don't think they had a good meaningful purpose although they still did an awesome job.
My  Presentation
Finally it was my turn to present. I was more nervous than I thought I was going to be. My mouth was so dry! In the end I concluded that my project wasn't a complete failure. On  my last slide I had a cycle that i feel I go through with almost every single thing.

They kind of went shopping 👕👖👗👚👙

Ok so this weekend I finally got rid of all the stuff! Yay! I feel good about giving the donations away to people who need it but at the same time I know I just wanted to get rid of it so I could have more space in my closet for my stuff. What I did is I invited over some of my neighbors and cousins (all girls pretty much lol) and just let them go through the box and pick out whatever they wanted. They all thought I was selling them the clothes but NO. I thought that was pretty funny though. Almost everything was gone the first time I let people go through the box. There was a few things that were left over so I just took those to one of those big things where you could drop off shoes and clothing. I have no idea what they're called or if they even have a name at all. I'm not sure if they take other stuff like socks and toothpaste but I put it in there anyways!

NEW Idea

I’m finally thought of something new to do! I think it’s more interesting and fun. I was thinking of asking some of the girls who live around me, including some family members If they were interested in taking the donations. This idea first occurred to me when I heard our neighbor mention that her daughter (who is my age, 17) wanted a new shirt like one that my niece was wearing but could not afford to buy new clothes and I was almost certain I remember seeing one similar in the box. By giving the clothes to someone I personally know, I would be certain it’s going to someone who will actually receive the clothes since I'd be there with them. If I were to just drop off the donations at the shelter, I wouldn’t know who would get the clothes, and that’s if anyone at all at the shelter could use it. This would also be so much more convenient for me because I wouldn’t have to deal with going to a shelter that doesn’t ever answer my calls and I could do it on my own time instead of having to cancel other important priorities. I would have some neighbors, friends and cousins who actually could use the clothes, come over at a convenient time and let them choose what they wish to keep. By doing this I’m finishing my 20% project and still helping people, I won’t give it to someone who could just simply go out and buy new things. PLUS I could finally get more room in my closet! It takes up so much space, I no longer keep my shoes in there 👠

The Real Issues

So here is a picture of the place where I'm supposed to go leave the donations. Also I'm planning on going and doing some volunteer work for them, the only issue though is that you are supposed to call ahead of time and schedule a date and time for you to go and help, but only if they would answer their phone! OR respond to my emails. Then maybe I'd have that all set and ready to drop off the donations. This place isn't too far from my house so distance isn't much of an issue. The real issues are knowing what to do when I get there. I couldn't just go without knowing what to expect or even knowing who to talk to. I'm stuck, I don't know what to do with the stuff anymore. I'm thinking of what else I could do to get rid of the stuff while still helping people and getting my space back in my really small closet -_-

That's just RUDE #3

So... I expected to see a little bit more than just a plastic bag with clothes inside. The only conclusion I came to was that PEOPLE JACKED STUFF FROM THE BOX. I'm not sure if they truly were confused about whether or not they were allowed to take things if they themselves were in need of that stuff, but its still not okay for them to have taken it without asking anyone. Things like the tooth paste and brushes were missing. I can't recall everything I saw in the box but lots of things were taken. I only thought that I should've taken stuff more periodically to avoid problems like that. I did take another bag home once but it was heavy and I didn't want to walk home again with donations. I should've taken my own advice though and taken stuff home!!! It didn't even occur to me to only carry home the lighter stuff. I'm so dumb.

Big Red Box #2

A while ago I left a big decorated box in the library to try to get more donations. I also made a new flyer that wasn't so Christmas-y theme and posted it in the library. It was in there for a really long time. A few times I went into the library to check on it and it seemed like it was doing good. I remember seeing items in the box like tooth paste, tooth brushes and some bags with clothing inside. Then it was a while before I had gone back into the library to check on it. So finally one day I asked my mom to pick me up after school so I could take the box home. That's not something that anyone wants to carry on a long walk home, so it was a double win :P I didn't have to walk home that day and I took home more donations. So after school I stopped by the library with a friend to go get the box. I'm not sure if I should have been surprised by what I found in the box or not...(The picture on the left shows all the donations I have at home and my favorite over sized hello kitty tote! I just didn't think to move it out of the way lol <3)

Excuses #1

Its been forever since I've blogged. I don't like blogging :/ but I'm going to start blogging again.
Finding time to actually go to the shelter has been such a struggle. Sundays are Funday, its family day just as much as Saturday. I have no choice. Every Saturday morning I have important doctors appointments so its complicated getting a scheduled time to go to the shelter. Other than that, life is very spontaneous with my mom. out of the blue she wants to visit family or they're having a small get together. I'm her kid and she drags me along with her to most places. Again, I have no choice but to go with her.
Every time I call the shelter no body ever answers the phone, business hours or after hours. Doesn't matter the time, they wont pick up the phone. I still have a big plastic bin at home in my room filled with some donations. my motivation to go and deliver the stuff is that the box is bothering me. I don't have a whole lot of space in my room so I want to get rid of it. Plus, I've found my snoopy sister going through it once, that was a huge argument.
